Tanzania Government Celebrates World Bank’s Efforts in Boosting Access to Clean Water

The government has commended World Bank (WB) for its support in enhancing access to clean water and sanitation in schools and rural communities through the sustainable WASH programme. The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Water expressed gratitude to the world bank for its support by highlighting the successful outcomes of the programme at a special result and learning multi-country roundtable in Dar es Salaam yesterday. She noted that the $352m/- funded project has played a crucial role in boosting investments in the water sector, resource mobilization and capacity building. The programme is being implemented in 25 regions since 2019 and it’s expected to achieve further milestones next year. She added that there has een an increment in the number of rural water supply joints that has reached 72.3%.
