VETA and Enabel have signed a two-year MOU aimed at equipping Tanzanian youth, particularly women, with quality education, vocational training, and green employment opportunities. The partnership focuses on implementing inclusive green and smart cities, creating green jobs, and improving access to business development and financial services.
Enabel will provide technical expertise, grants, and support for project implementation, while VETA will oversee project execution and ensure compliance with grant guidelines. The Wezesha Binti project will empower young women in the Kigoma region with education, skills, and decent work opportunities. Additionally, the partnership will establish Centers of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) to deliver market-relevant skills and enhance digital entrepreneurship and green skills development.
The MoU marks a significant step towards improving vocational education and creating opportunities for youth in Tanzania. It is expected to contribute to economic development and provide a sustainable livelihood for many young people.
